Today's pet peeve
I hate it when people say, "I don't believe in X" when they mean "I don't believe that doing X is acceptable". The latest example is from [info]booju_mooju, where some idiot said, "I don't believe in divorce."

What, is divorce like the Tooth Fairy? Because last time I checked, divorce was legal fact.

LOL
I can't help my eyes from rolling when I encounter those statements. It's as though "not believing in it" will make it disappear from their cozy, narrow little view of the world. *sigh*

I don't believe in you. You're just an occasional delusion brought about by not enough beer. You only appear rarely and briefly, like unicorns, and then you're gone and I'm left wondering if maybe I posted from my shadow journal in an effort to seem more popular.
